2018 Awards Ceremony, with keynote by Clive Grinyer

This week finalists, judges, industry partners and friends filled the RSA for Designing our Futures: the 2018 RSA Student Design Awards Ceremony.

Keynote speaker Clive Grinyer won an RSA Student Design Awards in 1982, and shared his inspirational personal journey – peppered with lots of insights and advice along the way – from working at IDEO, co-founding a design consultancy with Sir Jony Ive and leading the Design Council, to his current role as Head of Service Design at Barclays.

Winners then took to the stage in the RSA’s historic Great Room to receive their ‘stepping stone’ awards (designed by Robin Levien RDI) as their projects lit up the big screen.

Massive congratulations to the 2018 winners and finalists, and thank you to the many industry partners, judges, university tutors and participants who’ve made this, our 94th year, such a brilliant success!

The 2018/19 briefs will be released online in August, and our London Launch and Briefing Event will take place at the RSA in September – watch this space for updates.
