We believe that the way we run our economy needs to become more democratic.
For too long determining or influencing economic policy has been something that has happened out of sight of ordinary citizens. Equally, too many of us have felt that understanding the nuts and bolts of economic policy is simply beyond our abilities or feels remote from our day-to-day lives.
The Citizens’ Economic Council is a new and different approach to bringing citizens closer to conversations about the UK economy. The work we are doing is about demonstrating that economics is for everyone and that anyone can understand and have a voice in the way the economy is run.
