With skyrocketing unemployment in Brazil, self-employment is becoming an increasingly important way to give opportunity to those who need it the most. eduK is a subscription platform that produces TV-quality online courses in partnership with leading experts on techniques and skills needed for a person to be successful as a small entrepreneur.

eduK provides over 10,000 hours of video lessons distributed in more than 1,500 courses with 600 different teachers on topics that enable entrepreneurship, in the areas of gastronomy, handicrafts, photography, fashion, and beauty.

 

Current and Future Impact

eduK has reached 100,000 paying subscribers and has influenced over a million people through its free live courses. On average, eduK subscribers are able to increase family income by $200 per month after 6 months of subscription, based on the knowledge acquired in the courses. In order to enable more of its subscribers to succeed as entrepreneurs, eduK plans to connect its subscribers to products and services such as legal advice and micro-finance.
