Christabel Nsiah-Buadi FRSA

Christabel Nsiah-Buadi FRSA is the Lead for Spotify’s “Behind the Mic” podcast career fellowship for early career podcasters of Colour.

She is also a podcast development consultant. Her production company, My Lens Media produces culturally nuanced podcasts. Their clients include the Hollywood production company, Macro and the Webby-nominated podcast, “Sista Brunch.”

Christabel’s essays and op eds on inclusion on society and media have appeared in The IndependentBritish VogueGOOD and Shondaland.com. She has also appeared on ABC’s Nightline.

Before Christabel made the switch to podcasting, she had an award-winning career in public radio. She ran shows for National Public Radio and Public Radio International. She has reported for these networks, KPCC and Marketplace too.

Christabel’s career has taken her to different parts of the world. She has covered Ghana’s 50th anniversary, produced interviews with global icons like Hugh Masekela and Nile Rodgers, reported on detentions at Guantanamo Bay and on all but one of the U.S. presidential elections since 2004. She produced live coverage of Hurricane Katrina and reported from the Gulf Coast one year after the flood for “RadioNation with Laura Flanders” on Air America Radio. She was also the voice of The Africa Channel’s coverage of Nelson Mandela’s death in 2013.
