At this session we’ll hear from Dr Ros Kennedy FRSA on her work in Bristol over the past 35 years. She’ll be in conversation with Nicky Saunter FRSA.
Come and join us for the first 2017 lunchtime series in collaboration with Transform.
Ros Kennedy has lived in Bristol for over 35 years and has seen the city from a variety of points of view. We want to know what makes her tick, what she has learned about this city, and what keeps her passionate about the work she does. She worked as a GP until recently, meeting a huge range of people and learning a lot about the health of Bristol, before using this knowledge in a range of charity work. Then in 2015 she became High Sheriff of Bristol, a role that saw her working at all levels, meeting everyone from the great and the good to the highly vulnerable. Since leaving office, she continues to meet and support a number of organisations close to her heart, including Bristol Music Trust, Changing Tunes, and Borderlands. She is currently vice chair of governors at Bristol Cathedral Choir School, a trustee with Bristol Drugs Project, Bristol Charities, Transform Drug Policy Foundation, and Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust. She is married with three sons and two granddaughters.
Nicky Saunter is an RSA Fellow, an entrepreneur known for her work in sustainable business and business ethics, who now works as CEO for Transform, a global drug policy thinktank based in Bristol. She lives in Somerset, is a trustee of the Somerset Wildlife Trust, and is fascinated by all things wild.
