Technology can lead to unparalleled opportunities for human fulfilment, but it can also pose risks to our privacy, security and democracy. We need to find new ways of resolving challenges around how it is developed and deployed.
Tech and Society explores how to increase the agency that people have over the way that organisations design and employ emerging technologies. Our key aims are:
- To enable debate, giving voice to all sectors of society: to citizens as well as experts, technologists, civil society and politicians.
- To work with technology companies, public bodies, and civil society to create practical solutions to the challenges of future technologies.
- To ensure that future technologies are citizen-focused: not merely using people as data inputs or as test subjects.
Tech and Society is a programme of work exploring how to increase the agency that people have over the way that organisations design and employ technology.
