Become a governor
School governors work with a school to ensure high standards of achievement for all. They do this by setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school; holding the headteacher to account and overseeing the financial performance of the school. The strategic role of governors means that they are well placed to promote creativity in schools.

As a governor I promote creative teaching methodologies in the school and support my head teacher in promoting research literacy amongst the staff.
Become an Academy trustee
The role of an academy trustee is similar to that of a school governor. They too are responsible for setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school; holding the headteacher to account and overseeing the financial performance of the school but in some cases may do this for more than one school in a trust made up of several schools.
If you want to apply to become an academy trustee then simply fill out this short form and someone from the RSA’s Creative Schools for Creative Learners will pass your details onto our partners at New Schools Network who will assess your application and get back to you.
