Held on on Ada Lovelace day, the focus of the evening will be hearing from 8 finalists, who will pitch their project ideas on how to ‘Inspire and prepare young people from diverse backgrounds about the opportunities in the high-tech, low-carbon, digital -creative and entrepreneurial sectors’.
The evening will be chaired by science communicator and founder of the ‘Minorities in STEM’ network Alex Lathbridge. Alex will be joined by Engine Shed Director Nick Sturge and Engineer and founder of ‘Womens Tech Hub’ Serrie Chapman. With time allocated to network, we encourage attendees to talk to new people; the evening presents an opportunity to make connections to help us to accelerate diversity in our future workforce.
We would be delighted if members in the audience end up supporting one or more of these projects, in some form, independently of this competition!
