RSA Newcastle Online Encounter: The Return of Agroforestry

Fellowship events

Online via Zoom

In order to stay in touch with each other whilst keeping a distance, there will be a virtual Encounter for the Newcastle Network – same day, same time as usual. Join the Network for our first online event, as we look at the return of agroforestry with Ian Brown FRSA.

What landscape should we have in the UK? Who should pay for it? Where does natural capital fit in? Agroforestry is joining up farming to forestry in an endless number of combinations and is likely to return to the mainstream as the UK leaves the Common Agricultural Policies of the EU behind.

Ian Brown FRSA has recently completed a Churchill Fellowship with funding from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (WCMT).

Ian travelled across Europe taking 30 trains in 22 days, and then went on to Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa for nearly two months. The report he has written suggests how policy in this country could be changed for the better by putting ecosystems back on the priority list.

This event will take place online via Zoom. Follow the link to register a free ticket and you will be emailed with instructions for joining the call.

Unfamiliar with Zoom? It is a very user-friendly online conferencing platform. You do not need to sign up for an account or pay to join the call, but if you do have any issues or questions contact us at networks@rsa.org.uk.
