Grand Curriculum Designs is based on four key principles: 

  • Young people need both knowledge and competencies to enable them to thrive

  • A locally generated curriculum should integrate with and have equal status to the national curriculum

  • The best curricula are designed by teachers working in partnership with others

  • A rigorous curriculum design process is in itself a valuable school improvement tool

Grand Curriculum Designs was successfully piloted with 20 schools in 2012-13 and over 40 schools signed up for the 2013-14 programme. You can view samples of their project summaries here:
