About

RSA Opening Minds is not an ‘off the shelf’ curriculum. School leaders and teachers need to take a rigorous whole-school approach, relating the competences to the context of their own school and to their vision for learning. This flexibility also allows for a more effective and varied use of space and time within the school.

RSA Opening Minds can be adapted to meet the unique needs of any school and for a range of student abilities, year groups and subject areas. Many schools in England have used the competences throughout Key Stage 3 (age 11-14), helping students develop a range of skills that aid their learning throughout secondary school and beyond.

The RSA Opening Minds Training Centre, based in at the  RSA Academy in Tipton, acts as a consultancy and CPD hub for schools who wish to implement OM across their school, and as an emerging 'community of practice' for schools wishing to innovate collaboratively to take OM practice further.

For more information for either implementing Opening Minds in your school or the toolkit, please email Director of Development at RSA Academy Tipton, Lesley James, at james.l@rsaacademy.org
