It takes more than teachers to improve students’ mental health at school. The whole school mental health project works to empower all school staff to support students and increase their wellbeing.
Supporting good mental health is vital to improving quality of life for young people, allowing them to develop satisfying relationships, intellectual ability, a sense of right and wrong, and how to resolve problems. Achieving this requires all staff in a school. Non-teaching staff often have close relationships with students and see them outside of the classroom, in places where mental health issues can be more visible.
