Interested in bringing the RSA Public Events to your local town? RSA Watch is a series of small, local events designed to bridge the gap between Public Events at the RSA House in London and the rest of the world.

The RSA hosts one of the world’s leading public events programmes, a programme which welcomes speakers from across the world and across disciplines to deliver lectures, talks, screenings and debates to people from all backgrounds and disciplines. This stems from the strong beliefs of our founding members that all, no matter what race, status or background, should have access to some of the greatest minds in the world.

This still stands today and whilst we believe that is exactly what we provide, we’re aware that for most, a ‘quick trip to London’ is not a very realistic concept and most are not able to get here for a Tuesday or Thursday lunchtime.  To help overcome this barrier, a large number of the events are livestreamed on our website and we often have people joining us from around the world and joinign in the conversation online via Twitter.

Although this tackles one problem, there are still many people who are not able to take the time out during their day to join us live online so our Fellowship teams across the UK have been working to develop a series of events which enables groups to gather and watch these lectures back after the event. This social watching is a great way to bring together people with shared passions, united in their drive to support the RSA’s mission and improve way of life in their local area.

RSA Watch events normally takes place in the evening (6-8pm) and are structured around watching a recording of a lecture, with time for networking before and after. These are open to all; both Fellows and non-Fellows of the RSA.

We have two RSA Watch events coming up, one in Manchester on 26 September and the other in Stroud on 27 September. Follow each link to find out more and book your place - the local organisers are happy to welcome new and familiar faces. If you would like to host an RSA Watch in your local area, do get in touch with the team and we’ll help support you with booking the venue and promoting to the Fellowship in your area.
