Murmurations: the #makechester talks - for the doers of Chester to make a great place even better.

The team of four behind Murmurations believe they get the city they deserve (with some luck thrown in) and are embracing their power to create the city they want. You're invited to join them in Chester for a day of ideas aiming to inspire culture and business.

Inspired by the Do Lectures' Manifesto of a Doer, the Murmurations team have lovingly selected 12 speakers, five of whom are Fellows of the RSA, from a diverse range of organisations such as the RSA, The Fat Duck, Incredible Edible, Global Cities, Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming, and Meanwhile Space. The day is hosted by Mark Shayler FRSA, author of Do Disrupt and Founder of This is Ape; sustainable innovation consultancy.

Date: Friday 1 July 2016

Time: 09:00 - 17:00

Location: St Mary's Creative Space, Saint Mary's Hill, Chester city centre, CH1 2DW

In addition to the talks, the day is interspersed with a few sessions to flex your expectations and includes a beautifully prepared lunch and barista coffee. After the talks, there will be a chance to enjoy a drink and reflect on the day together.

Andy Foster, one of the team members organising Murmurations, and Fellow of the RSA said;

“Chester is a great place and there are many great things happening. But there is always much more to be done and in a period of local authority cuts, it is both necessary and possible for individuals to shape the character of the city. As a Fellow, I could see that the idea of the #makechester talks was closely aligned with the RSA’s aim to share powerful ideas to help create a better society. That is why I was keen to be involved.”

Tickets are £40. The event is organised not for profit, but for community, and as such tickets are for sale at an accessible rate for all; subsidised by local sponsors, to create an event for local business and culture in Chester. If you are unwaged or cannot afford to attend, please contact the team.
