Wills and legacies
Leave a gift in your will
Help the RSA to ensure better futures for people, places and the planet.
Leave a legacy
Thank you for considering naming the RSA in your will. Legacy giving has been vital to the RSA’s work throughout our history, and these donations remain critical today.
Donations through wills also enable our Fellows and supporters to further their own values and priorities for social change long into the future.
Adding the RSA to your will
If you already have a will drafted, it can easily be updated to include the RSA as a new beneficiary. This is done by adding an appendix (known as a codicil), and having it signed by two (non-beneficiary) witnesses. We have included draft codicil text here, but please contact us or your solicitor/estate advisor with any questions.

Getting in touch
If you've named the RSA in your will, we'd be grateful if you could let us know. Not only does this allow us to plan for the future, but it helps to ensure that your wishes are clearly expressed. This is particularly important if you would like your legacy to support a specific aspect of our work (e.g. the archive, public events programme, preserving RSA House, or our work with young fellows). If this is your preference, please contact us before finalising your arrangements to discuss. While we can't give legal or tax advice, we'll do our best to answer any other questions you may have. Contact us at [email protected].
