FAQ

How late can we have our party?
The RSA premises licence allows us to serve alcohol until midnight.  It is possible to apply for a special licence extension until 1.00am - however these are not guaranteed and the number of applications is limited. Additional fees apply. Please ask your co-ordinator for more details.

How do we arrange the wedding ceremony?
Our local authority is the City of Westminster. You do not have to be a resident of the borough to hold your ceremony with us as we are an 'approved premises' with the Registrar. The latest time for the ceremony is usually 5.00pm but you should check available times with the Registrar. You can call them on +44 (0)20 7641 6840 or visit their website for further details of how to make arrangements.

Can we have a menu tasting?
We know that it is extremely important for you to choose the right menu for your celebrations. So we offer a complimentary menu tasting for events of over 50 guests. This tasting gives you the opportunity to taste the menu you have selected for your wedding, or it may help you decide. The tasting will normally take place 4-6 weeks before your wedding and during working hours – usually dictated by business levels here at the RSA.

How will my guests arrive and where is the nearest car park?
We are a 2-5 minute walk from Charing Cross mainline, Tube and Embankment underground stations respectively and are located just off the Strand. We recommend that you and your guests pre-book taxis or other forms of transport for your departure to avoid long waiting times at the end of your wedding day.

The Adelphi Car Park is the nearest, situated across the road and underneath the building. If you would like directions of how to get there, please let us know and we can send you a copy. For booking spaces please call Adelphi Car Park directly on 0207 836 4838. We recommend that you book in advance.

What is the RSA's smoking policy?
The RSA is a non-smoking building. Since 1 July 2007, it is against the law to smoke in any premises that are open to the public. If you do wish to smoke, this is only permitted outside the John Adam Street entrance. If you wish to have the Durham Street entrance open, please do let us know.  Please note that this entrance closes at 9.00pm as we are situated in a residential area.

Can we bring our own wines?
We do allow clients to bring their own wines for functions with prior consent from the General Manager.  The standard corkage rates are £13 per bottle of wine, £17 per bottle of sparkling wine and £22 per bottle of Champagne. Clients are not permitted to provide their own stock for the bar.  Please contact your coordinator to discuss your requirements further.

Can we include children in our guest list?
We are pleased to welcome children into the house.  We have specific children's package that includes a special menu, activity pack for them to play with and the use of a TV and DVD in the evening to entertain them.  We have 2highchairs available for use at dinner.  We can also put you in touch with a crèche company should you wish to provide a childcare facility.
