Join us in Nottingham for an RSA Fellow-led forum to shape what Inclusive Growth will look like across the East Midlands Combined County Authority.
The RSA’s Inclusive Growth Commission for the East Midlands is exploring a long-term plan for people who live, work and study in the region, to equip them with the opportunities to fulfil their potential.
The Commission’s recommendations will inform proposals for £billions of public investment through the Combined Authority and its partners, shaping EMCCA’s Inclusive Growth Strategy for the East Midlands for years to come.
We published our interim findings in March and are approaching our final report in September. As we develop our recommendations, we want to continue the conversation about what inclusive growth means to you.
That’s why we’re hosting a summer series of place-based events to hear your views and shape the recommendations around them:
• Thursday 31 July, 2-4pm – Nottingham
• Tuesday 5 August, 6-8pm – Derby
• Wednesday 6 August, 2-4pm – Mansfield
• Wednesday 6 August, 6-8pm – Buxton
At these sessions we’ll discuss the IGC’s keystone proposal to build an ‘opportunity escalator’ for all parts of the region, to help people overcome the barriers to finding Good Work locally, and on moving up the escalator to higher skilled, better paid roles.
We’ll also be asking you what makes the East Midlands unique – and what’s the story the region needs to tell the outside world to draw investment and jobs to the region?
