The International Development Network of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) will be hosting a an online event focused on Women in Development.

This event aims to spotlight the experiences and contributions of women who are working directly with communities in  addressing key local socio-economic development needs —particularly where impact is most deeply felt by vulnerable populations.

The event will highlight a selection of projects led by women that have worked directly with communities in a number of Lower Income Countries (LICs) which have resulted in a meaningful impact.

Speakers will share:

  • What made the project successful
  • The key challenges and lessons learned
  • What donors and stakeholders should keep in mind when supporting community-led initiatives.

This event will be free to attend and open to Fellows, friends, and colleagues interested in supporting the work of the RSA.

A summary report of proceedings and video of the event will be available after the event & will be circulated widely to international development policy-makers and practitioners globally.

We hope that the event may also motivate the potential creation of an informal RSA Women in Development Network (involving both RSA Fellow and non-Fellows) who are all contributing in different regions and contexts to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
