The RSA Library, in a previous incarnation, was situated in a space on levels one and two below ground. Designed by architect Brian Paver in 2003, it utilised glass and thin structures to maximise space and create a feeling of openness.

The 2018 redevelopment of these floors has extended the library in it’s current location into many of the smaller rooms and the re-designed Long Gallery where the main library was previously located. These facilities offer improved space for Fellows and visitors.

The Library holds a contemporary collection of over 6,000 books and journals relevant to our work and history, with an emphasis on material that relates to our projects, research and events programme.

From philosophy to management, design to politics, and books by our event speakers, you can always find an inspiring read.

The RSA Library is open to all Fellows, including a freepost lending service.

Fellows have nicknamed the Library ‘the Cellar of Wisdom’.
