Join us at RSA Engage Belfast to discuss activity & issues in your area with a small group of like-minded Fellows.
Through short pitches, each event showcases the achievements of those who are turning their ideas into action with a “call out” for the audience to share their skills and support. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or to get involved with local, early stage projects designed to address social challenges, this is an opportunity to engage with the Fellows behind the ideas.
This Engage we will focus on the results from the recent Ireland review survey. We will discuss initial findings and how best to develop activity in the nation.
Meet local Fellows and RSA staff
Through facilitated networking, the evening presents an opportunity to make new connections and spark collaboration within the Fellowship, whilst finding out more about activity in your local area.
Do you have a project that Fellows could support?
At each of our Engage events there are several pitching spots available to Fellows. This is your opportunity to stand up and pitch your project to the audience, highlighting the ways the Fellowship could support you. To find out more about pitching on the night, please contact Vivs Long-Ferguson: viv.long-ferguson@rsa.org.uk

Thank you for your comments Denis. I agree completely that it is time for a rethink about how we can help local Fellows make a difference and more of an impact in Ireland under the RSA banner. So we sent out the questionnaire to harvest views and suggestions and the main theme of the Belfast Engage event on the 17th (and the Dublin one on the 8th february) will be a reconsideration of Irish activity. We hope for good attendances, so that those people who want to be part of the future can have just the opportunity for a radical rethink that you suggest. Sorry you won't be there on Tuesday
Thanks for this, we have had lots of suggestions for developing activity and practical action working with partnership and developing activity across all of Ireland.
Although I have not been actively involved with the RSA in Ireland over the past year - by contrast with the 5/6 years previously - I've been thinking that it would be good to participate in a constructively critical conversation about how the RSA could be more effectively present in Ireland, North and South, than has been possible hitherto. However, I have a prior commitment on the evening of Tuesday 17 November and won't be able to join with others in the Lyric.
Suffice to say here, and quite briefly, that I believe that a rather radical rethink is needed. In particular, like others I have been in conversation with over recent years, this region - and very likely others across the Isles - would benefit greatly if there was much more devolution of responsibility and resource from the centre - a devolution that could be expressed, for example, in the form of a modestly resourced regional office and a regional officer.
