Join us for this month's RSA Performing Arts Network event, where we'll be considering the RSA and the Performing Arts.

Following two meetings where there has been (hotly debated) input from network members into RSA research, the time seems right to step back and consider what else Fellows from the Performing Arts Sector bring to the RSA. We’ll be thinking about how we can best participate in and contribute to the RSA's mission to enrich society through ideas and actions, and how we can raise awareness of our work throughout the Fellowship and involve other RSA Fellows.

Vikki Heywood CBE will be joining us for the evening. Vikki is chair of the RSA and has a background in running many performing arts venues that enrich society in a multitude of ways (including leading young people's venue Contact Theatre, the Royal Court, and the RSC).

Come along for an evening of lively discussion about how we can put our ideas into action.

The event is free to attend but please book at the top of this page. If you have any particular ideas on this topic or thoughts on how to facilitate this meeting to get to the heart of this vital topic, do contact Network Lead Jackie Elliman FRSA: [email protected].

This event is for Fellows who work in the Performing Arts Sector (drama, dance, circus, music, spoken word, physical theatre, street arts, etc.) to get together. We're also working on events for the wider Fellowship, so watch this space.

If you have any questions, or to let us know of any access requirements or reasonable adjustments you have, please email the RSA team: [email protected].

Location: The Ovalhouse Theatre, 52-54 Kennington Oval, London SE11 5SW

About this network...

The RSA Performing Arts Network is for the widest range of performing arts professionals in the RSA - working in drama, dance, music, live art, opera, circus, and more. The aim is to consider the current role of the performing arts in the RSA, how we can contribute to there being more, and how we can increase awareness of the many ways in which work in the performing arts sector dovetails with the RSA's mission to enrich society through ideas and action. Meetings of the network have considered such topics as Verbatim Theatre projects, drama in schools, commissioning in the health sector, and community focus and funding. We believe that the performing arts sector is not just about entertainment, it empowers audiences with knowledge and new perceptions, and many practitioners’ work ties in closely with the ambitions of the Power to Create.
