RSA Scotland: The Lyon's Den Conference

A den’ is usually designed to provide a quiet, safe, comfortable and informal atmosphere for conversation, reading, writing and craft making. Come along to the Lyon's Den at Douglas Community Centre for an evening of story telling with Jason Lyon FRSA.

Lyon is a recently nominated Fellow of the RSA, for his work in the community telling Multi Sensory Stories.

Event Programme:

Mrs. Mash - Marie Louise has been working as a professional storyteller for eight years and loves to tell all kinds of stories from Scottish, fairy and family tales to humorous tales for adults and the singing of songs and ballads. She particularly loves stories about food and especially Scottish food.

Chris Morris & Drumdee - Enjoy exploring an African drumming workshop, through use of hand played drums and percussion instruments.

Scottish Dance Theatre - a high quality dance movement workshop to inspire and tune our sensibilities to enrich our lives.

Dundee Rep Theatre ( REP Engage) - a drama workshop to explore the unexpected

How it felt – 'How It Felt is a local social enterprise run by Deborah Chapman that provides supervised and interactive Puppet Building that will show step by step guidance on how to create a full sized Puppet.

Jings Crivvens Help Ma Boab (interactive storytelling) - in association with the Jings Crivvens Help Ma Boab creative writing project, led by playwright Jodie Marshall. The Dundee Storytellers will showcase their new works @ The Edinburgh Fringe 2018 but will preview this unique experience at The Lyons Den Conference.

Mike and Dolly – Dundee Musicians that will provide a interactive workshop using voice in a uncomplicated and straightforward manner.

Dundee City Pipe Band - Ross Inglis will represent Dundee City Pipe Band at the The Lyon's Den Conference to pipe guests into this wonderful celebration.

We also have a 30 minute performance from the BIG NOISE Sistema Scotland based at the Douglas Community Centre.
