RSA Salisbury Meetup

Fellowship Event

 -

The Friends Meeting House, Salisbury

Come and join us at this first RSA Café event. The Café is intended to be an exchange of ideas modelled on the Socrates Cafés running worldwide and on the Democracy Café in Salisbury facilitated by Dickie Bellinger FRSA.

We hope in holding this RSA Salisbury event to evolve and support locally the national campaign being run by the RSA to promote deliberative democracy. At the same time, the Salisbury Democracy Café wants to promote ideas to improve the political process locally, and thinks that by deliberation we can change the political climate in Salisbury, and is building support for Salisbury Democracy Alliance with the ultimate aim of creating a citizens' assembly in the city.

The RSA Café will have no pre-set agenda and the two topics for discussion will be determined by participants at the start of the meeting. If you have a local or national issue you would like to see discussed, please offer it for consideration. The aim is to engage in impassioned yet thoughtful exchanges of ideas and ideals. We welcome people with a diversity of views. If you like your coffee with a sprinkling of ideas on the side and good company, this event may be for you. Our programme for the evening will be:

6.30-7.00pm      Coffee/Teas and Social

7.00-8.00pm     Introductions and Deliberation One

8.00-8.15pm      Break

8.15-9.00pm      Deliberation Two and close.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: [email protected]. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.
