The Mindful Living Network is hosting a special guest, Dan Nixon, former Bank of England economist, and senior researcher for The Mindfulness Initiative which serves as the Secretariat for the Mindfulness All Party Parliamentary Group, to bring us their latest report on Mindfulness as a Foundational Human Capacity.

On Tuesday 9 April, Dan will share insights on how our capacity for mindfulness can provide a way of being in the world which fosters purpose, and can enable individuals, groups, and a future society facing extraordinary uncertainty realise our potential by:

  • Living “on purpose”: reorienting life towards a personal and collective sense of what is important

  • New ways of seeing: facilitating a wider perspective and wiser approaches to global problem-solving

  • Fostering connection: activating and enhancing innate human qualities which promote positive relationships.

The RSA Mindful Living Network’s mission is “to engage, educate and inspire Fellows to live more purposeful, creative, inspired and mindful lives by sharing practical tools grounded on the latest scientific evidence and wisdom traditions.”  The RSA is an Enlightenment Organisation and as the cultivation of mindfulness can underpin the lifelong development of individuals and society, this talk is therefore addressed to anyone interested in possible visions for how societies might develop in response to the challenges of the 21st century.
