Join us at this RSA Fellow-led event in Cardiff focusing on discovering and supporting female-focused or female-led projects that are tackling 21st-century challenges. This event is being run in partnership with Cardiff Urbanistas.
The event is being hosted by Michelle Preston FRSA, RSA Fellowship Councillor, Founder, Change Maker and Woman on Purpose, who will share the story behind her mission to support women to improve wellbeing and create a purpose-driven life (www.simplyhappy.org.uk).
The event will provide the space for women to "Connect, Create and Collaborate”, and highlights the importance and value of women working collaboratively to create positive change within their own lives, their communities and society. It will also enable participants to make new connections within the local Fellowship network and Urbanistas. During the evening a mix of ideas will be “pitched”, followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more from the people driving them forward and volunteer your support.
Want to pitch?
If you have a project tackling some of the 21st century challenges faced by women and girls and would like to tell those attending about it then why not apply to pitch? You get five minutes to share with the audience what your project is about and what you need to help it create more impact. If you're interested in one of the ten slots available then please contact the event lead to apply by emailing: michelle@simplyhappy.org.uk.
Simply Women on Purpose
"Simply Women on Purpose" (SWOP) is a new project, launched last year and currently sits under the umbrella of "simplyhappy", a purposeful business that provides positive psychology, coaching and consultancy to individuals, communities and organisations.
"SWOP" has been touring the UK, visiting cities, offering free workshops and planting the seeds of a brand new network for women, supported by a RSA Catalyst grant.
We are a network of disruptive and collaborative women whose approach to social innovation is based on the value of everyday urban life and experience. We thrive on the comfortable chaos of cities, and want to use this as the starting point for creating places that work better for everyone.
We believe that as businesses and cities are becoming increasingly social, women are best placed to lead and influence new ways of thinking and doing. Urbanistas is a place where women crowdsource support to get things done.
We look forward to seeing you there!
