RSA Lincolnshire: Who Decides?

Fellowship Event

Covid-19 has already changed our world beyond recognition and we don’t yet know what the future will look like beyond the pandemic. How can we ensure that the response to and recovery from the crisis are democratic? What role can and should the public play in decisions about the future? What could happen at a local level?

RSA Lincolnshire warmly invites Fellows, friends, family and colleagues to join our conversation about voice and representation.

We’ll hear first from Riley Thorold, RSA researcher on democratic innovation and regional economic planning, about the new wave of deliberative democracy - citizens’ assemblies, juries and panels - being used by governments across the world to bring citizens into public decision-making more directly. Our Area Manager Abigail Campbell will share examples of how RSA Fellows have been using deliberation in their local communities. Then we’ll have a conversation to share questions, views and ideas.

You can find out more about the RSA’s campaign for deliberative democracy here.

This event will take place via Zoom online conferencing platform.

Attendees will be sent details of how to access the event ahead of time, with simple instructions for anyone who hasn’t used Zoom before. If after receiving the instructions you still feel that you would like a run-through before the event, please get in touch by emailing: [email protected]
