We’re continuing the series of bringing the RSA SW and What Next? West Chapter community together online to connect, check in and to hear from different speakers.

Join us on 19 April to hear from our speaker Nickie Jakeman FRSA, A&E consultant at Bath hospital. Nickie will discuss a project she is leading to get a Wellbeing Garden using Forest Gardening principles off, or even 'in', the ground at the Royal United hospital in Bath.

In this session, Nickie will pose the question: Imagine if every hospital, GP surgery, mental health unit and care home had a wellbeing garden. Imagine if we deliberately designed our healthcare environments so that we could experience health and wellbeing benefits in the space around the buildings, as well as inside the buildings.

Nickie will discuss the journey so far and describe similar endeavours from around the country. She will touch on some of the theories underpinning ‘Nature Connection’ as well as the growing evidence for the physical and mental health benefits of access to green space and nature based activities.
