The RSA Coffeehouse is opening its virtual doors. Inspired by the RSA’s origin as an enlightenment coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our Virtual Coffeehouse Conversation event series offers an interactive space to share and develop ideas for social change.

At each Virtual Coffeehouse Conversation, you will hear from an RSA Fellow with an idea or project for creating lasting social impact, who has questions for you to help them move forward. Be part of a supportive and collaborative group discussion focused on sharing insights, sparking ideas, and finding solutions and opportunities.

RSA Fellows Dr Grace Hatton and Dr Nathan Hudson-Peacock are part of a group of UK-based doctors who have founded Eco Medics.

Eco Medics is a non-profit organisation aiming to collectively tackle sustainability within the healthcare industry with healthcare professionals and those encountering healthcare services. By engaging, educating and inspiring healthcare professionals, Eco Medics is building a network of individuals who can implement tried-and-tested projects in their local healthcare departments. The intention is to drive institutional changes that place the health of our planet alongside the health of its patients.

Grace and Nathan are recent recipients of an RSA Catalyst Seed Grant for Eco Medics, and you can read more from Grace about the need to address plastic waste in the healthcare industry in this RSA Comment article.

Join Grace and Nathan to learn more about Eco Medics’ aims to make the healthcare industry more sustainable, and to explore how behavioural change can be achieved across a large and complex organisation. A short presentation from Grace will be followed by a discussion facilitated by RSA People and Place Co-Lead, Ruth Hannan, in which we welcome your input.

We welcome all who are interested from different fields and disciplines, from anywhere in the world, within and beyond our RSA Fellowship community.
