Inspired by the RSA’s origin in an enlightenment coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our new Northern Coffeehouse series offers an interactive space to share ideas for social change.
On 10 June, we’re joined by Tris Brown FRSA to talk about his project, 100 Ideas for the North. Too often, national discourse around regional inequalities focuses on big projects, or structures of power.
Instead, Tris wants to co-create something that promotes a hundred small-scale innovative projects. Projects that can start small, scale up and be replicated across the North of England. Projects that need a catalyst. Projects to change the world or change a street, and both are equally as valid.
From children's book schemes in Preston, to arts collectives in Chester; from homeless hostels in Doncaster, to record labels in Redcar; the North has got some great innovative ideas in it, and Tris wants to see if you can help him create more.
Join us most Fridays for an informal lunchtime talk followed by a chance to discuss the topic of the day or anything else that is on your mind, in small breakout rooms. Starting at 1pm and finished by 1.45pm, you can enjoy your Friday lunch break with inspiring speakers and interesting colleagues.
