Inspired by the RSA’s origin in an enlightenment coffeehouse over 260 years ago, our new Northern Coffeehouse series offers an interactive space to share ideas for social change.
We’re joined by Neil Morrin, social entrepreneur from Liverpool. For over a decade now, Neil has been part of a loose collective of business owners, academics and tech enthusiasts. They provide a variety of events, resources and spaces to grow Liverpool’s social economy, contribute to the intellectual life of the city and help spotlight the good work done by interesting people that might otherwise fall below the radar.
One of these initiatives is Ignite Talks, a quarterly event at which people are invited to present a talk on a specialist subject. Speakers have five minutes to talk on a subject accompanied by 20 slides, automatically advanced. The automated slides mean that keeping to time is a discipline. Neil will be giving us a history of Ignite and talking more widely about the various initiatives he’s been involved in.
Join us most Fridays for an informal lunchtime talk followed by a chance to discuss the topic of the day or anything else that is on your mind, in small breakout rooms. Starting at 1pm and finished by 1.45pm, you can enjoy your Friday lunch break with inspiring speakers and interesting colleagues.
