  • Community and place-based action
  • Social innovation

Inspired by the RSA’s origins in Rawthmell’s Coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our Coffeehouse series offers Fellows across Central the chance to meet online, share ideas, and learn about some of the exceptional projects happening across the region.

Join us once a month for an informal lunchtime talk by a guest presenter, followed by a Q&A and discussion .

5 March: Sarah Taylor FRSA - Charity-corporate partnerships with real social impact

RSA Fellow, Sarah Taylor, works for the literacy charity, Chapter One, which runs an online reading programme in social mobility cold spots across the UK. The charity works with over 100 corporate partners who sponsor their employees to read weekly with a child, using Chapter One's bespoke platform. Sarah will talk about the challenges and opportunities of working with companies to deliver volunteering programmes with measurable social impact.

28 March: Bella Ikpasaja FRSA - Unleashing the Superpower of Governance: From Tick-Box to Competitive Advantage

Join us for a compelling RSA Coffeehouse hour led by Bella Ikpasaja, a seasoned Organisational Culture Specialist and RSA Fellow, who will challenge and inspire new perspectives on corporate governance and leadership. This session delves into the transformative power of governance beyond compliance, exploring its role as a catalyst for innovation, sustainability, and competitive advantage.

Bella will share insights from her extensive experience in fostering inclusive workplace cultures, designing impactful policies, and coaching leaders. The presentation will highlight the importance of humanising governance, making it relatable and beneficial in our daily lives and workplaces. Attendees will learn how effective governance practices can not only ensure compliance but also drive organisational growth and integrity.

The session includes a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute interactive discussion, encouraging participants to explore the application of governance principles in their sectors. This event is an invitation to embrace governance as a strategic tool for ethical, inclusive, and sustainable business practices.

Embrace this opportunity to discover how a redefinition of corporate governance can be a cornerstone of your organisational success.

This event is free to attend and open to all, Fellows and non-Fellows. We hope you can join us!
