Emanuele Nannini

Emanuele Nannini is programme director for Afghanistan at the Italian charity Emergency

After studying Political and International Science at Bologna University, Emanuele has worked in developing and conflict countries, more recently in Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, as well Chile and Nepal.

Since 2008 he has worked with Emergency NGO, a surgical centre for civilian war victims, initially in Lashkargah Emergency Surgical Centre, Helmand Province. In 2009 he moved to Sudan where he spent one year working as Hospital Manager in the Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery.

In 2010 Emanuele returned to Afghanistan, a country that he deeply loves, and since then has worked as Programme Coordinator. The Emergency NGO Programme in Afghanistan includes 3 main surgical centres and 35 clinics located in several provinces across the country.
