Georgia Oakley
BAFTA-nominated director and screenwriter
Georgia Oakley is a BAFTA-nominated director and screenwriter, with an interest in convention-defying, female-led narratives. Her debut feature BLUE JEAN premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival, where it was met with critical acclaim and awarded the Giornate degli Autori Audience Award. Following the film’s UK premiere at the London Film Festival, it was nominated for 13 British Independent Film Awards. These included 5 nominations for Georgia, who won Best Debut Screenwriter, and was recently nominated for the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut. The film will be released in the UK on 10th February. Prior to making BLUE JEAN, Georgia wrote and directed numerous short films, which screened at SXSW, Tribeca and the New York and Galway Film Festivals, among others.
