Dr Lesley Nelson-Addy

Dr Lesley Nelson-Addy has over 10 years English and Racial Justice in education experience. Dr Nelson-Addy has written a number of book review articles for the National Association for Teaching English magazine, which has combined their literary works with the growing need for a diverse curriculum in English literature classrooms across England. These texts include Manorism by Yomi Sode, Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson. Additionally, through her work as Education Manager for The Runnymede Trust, Dr Nelson-Addy has chaired both virtual and in-person discussions with authors like Dr Nazneen Ahmed-Pathak, Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo, former Poet Laureate Jackie Kay and former Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman.
