Consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in paediatric liaison at St Thomas' Hospital, London

Dr Peter Hindley is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in paediatric liaison at St Thomas' Hospital, London.  He is Director of Training for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Higher Training) for South London and has been Chair of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since July 2013.   Dr Hindley has longstanding interests in the interface between physical and mental health in children and adolescents, early intervention and prevention and training and education.  He established the first mental health service for deaf children in UK at South West London and St George's and has been Training Programme Director in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St George's and South London and the Maudsley.

 

Dr Hindley was founding chair of the Deaf Child and Family Special Interest Group of the European Society of Mental Health and Deafness, Chair of the South East Branch of the Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Vice President of the European Association of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and founding chair of the UK and Ireland Paediatric Liaison Network.  Dr Hindley is a Trustee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Young Minds.
