Head of Sixth Form, RSA Academy Holyhead

Over the past ten years, Samirah Roberts has progressed from a teacher of psychology to a deputy head teacher of an outstanding inner city Birmingham academy. 

For four years, she led a highly successful sixth form, which has expanded considerably from 50 students to over 260 and is now one of the most successful non-selective institutions in Birmingham. As a result of a number of initiatives, such as a competitive courses programme for disadvantaged students almost all students attending the university of their choice and high rates of success, with both medical and Oxbridge applications.

Samirah has worked alongside national organisations such as ALPs and PiXL in order to drive the standard of post 16 provision nationally and she has a keen interest in school to school support. In light of this, she currently facilitates on a range of National College Leadership Programmes and leads on Self Evaluation.
