On 21 October, we proudly launched our Young Fellows Mentoring Programme, available exclusively to our global Fellowship.
This programme is shaped by the feedback from our Annual Fellowship Survey and addresses one of the top five priorities identified by our Fellowship: mentoring.
You asked, and we delivered. It’s clear there’s a demand for a mentoring programme at the RSA and we’re excited to bring this idea to life. The Young Fellows Mentoring Programme promotes collaboration and growth – offering a dynamic interchange of skills and expertise.
What is mentoring?
Mentoring allows individuals to share their experiences, offer guidance and ultimately learn from one another. Whether you are seeking to broaden your skillset or help shape the next generation of leaders, our mentoring programme is designed to suit your aspirations.
Who's it for?
The Young Fellows Mentoring Programme is open to all Fellows.
- For experienced Fellows: share expertise, impart wisdom and support the next generation of innovators
- For Young Fellows: connect with seasoned professionals, build your skills and develop your career
Not a Fellow yet? The Young Fellow Mentoring Programme is only open to our members. Find out more about how you can become a Young Fellow or become a Fellow.
Why are we doing this?
The Young Fellows Mentoring Programme is part of our commitment to building a supportive Fellowship community. At the RSA, we believe in the combined power of shared skills and experience to help shape the future. By nurturing a new generation of future leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators we are creating a unique offering for our global Fellowship, one that connects Fellows across generations to inspire social impact.
How did we get there?
Earlier this year, we piloted our Young Fellows Mentoring Programme with Fellows from around the world. It was their feedback from this experience that was instrumental in creating the final offering.
For Young Fellow Freya Johns, the practical insights from her mentee perspective have been invaluable:
As a young entrepreneur, we’re not taught this practical advice in terms of the realities of building a company from the ground up.
Fellow Jan Floyd-Douglass, who participated in the pilot as a mentor, highlights the rewarding nature of mentoring, saying:
There’s a lovely feeling that you’re actually helping someone on their own journey. And I think that’s a wonderful thing to be able to do when you get older.
From the feedback we received after the mentoring programme pilot, this exciting partnership can provide real-world guidance while building meaningful connections across generations.
Ready to get involved? If you’re already a Fellow, sign up to become a mentor or mentee and be part of this exciting new chapter for the RSA.
