Fellows' Library

Search the RSA Library Catalogue

At the first meeting held by the Society it was decided that a book should be bought. After this the collection grew through purchase and presents. The first catalogue of the books, pamphlets and maps belonging to the Society was published in 1790, and we have been purchasing books ever since.

The library aims to have a working atmosphere, which includes library visitors making enquiries and being assisted by staff. Our facilities offer plenty of seating, considerable IT facilities and a separate lounge space for Fellows to read or talk.

In addition to our book and DVD stock, please note that the library also contains:

Library Hours and Access

Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 8.00 pm
Saturday - Sunday Closed

The Library is also closed on Bank Holidays. It is very occasionally necessary to close the Library on other days and when this is the case advance notice will be given on the website.

The Library is open to RSA Fellows, and a Freepost service for book requests and returns is available for those unable to visit in person. Find out more about our services.

It is located on levels -1 and -2 of the RSA building. It is usually staffed during the majority of opening hours, but when it is not details of loans and returns can be left for staff to be processed upon their return.
