As we face hotter summers and more frequent heatwaves, we need more than awareness – we need action.

Beat the Heat is a co-creation workshop bringing together residents, researchers, local organisations and decision-makers to shape responses to the health and environmental impacts of rising heat in the Southampton area.

This is your invitation to help design a city that works for everyone—even in extreme temperatures.

Together, we’ll explore:

– Who is most affected by heat stress?

– Where are the hotspots in the Southampton area?

– How can we adapt our streets, buildings, green spaces and infrastructure for health and wellbeing?

– What support and communications will keep people informed and safe?

– How can we create inclusive solutions that involve community voices—especially young people and those most impacted?

This event aims to shape the foundations of a project that will have real impact of life in the Southampton area in a warming world.

Join us to help beat the heat in the Southampton area.
