Drops of Heaven delves into the world of food and life, through an examination of the ‘soup of life,’ a soup made by culinary artist Yoshiko Tatsumi as an essential daily source of comfort and peace.

Kawamura’s documentary looks at slow food in relation with nurturing love. Weaving together Japanese landscapes with cooking and healthy eating, it offers a unique insight into Japanese home-cooking and the importance of cooking in our lives. Tatsumi’s legendary soup has been the inspiration to cooks in hospitals across Japan, and is still a source of legend and curiosity.

This screening is presented in collaboration with the Japan Foundation in our historic Durham Street Auditorium. This is work done in celebration of the RSA’s involvement in the Osaka Expo, and in anticipation of the upcoming Culinary Conversation with Chef Masaki Sugisaki.

Seats are not reserved, so come early to grab the best spot. Screening starts at 7:30pm in the Durham Street Auditorium. Our Muse Bar will be open from 4pm for a drink beforehand.
