Part of the Cutting Edge series

Fashion rethought. Systems remade

Fashion is at a crossroads. Beyond incremental change, this lecture asks: what if fashion broke free from its outdated systems altogether? We will explore how circular economies, regenerative design, ethical labour models, and decolonised practices can open up space for truly radical possibilities. This isn’t about “less bad” sustainability — it’s about bold reimaginings that redefine how fashion is made, valued, and experienced.

Join Beatrace Oola, Mitchell Vassie and Tega Akinola – leading designers, thinkers, and changemakers  as they challenge assumptions and sketch out futures where creativity and responsibility work hand in hand. Be part of a conversation that pushes past barriers, sparks new visions, and dares to imagine fashion not as it is, but as it could be.

Cutting EdgeLecture series

Fashion rethought. Systems remade

About the Series:

Cutting Edge is a lecture series dedicated to exploring the future of fashion through the intersecting lenses of creativity, sustainability, technology, and cultural change. As the industry faces urgent calls for transformation, this series brings together designers, thinkers, and changemakers to imagine what fashion can become when innovation is guided by values.

Through dynamic talks and critical conversations, Cutting Edge asks: How do we design for a future that is both visionary and responsible? What happens when we rethink the systems, materials, and values behind the clothes we wear?

Join a growing community of thinkers and makers who are reimagining the role of fashion in a rapidly changing world.

Format:

Short presentations and Q&A

Who Should Attend?
