Street Wisdom is an immersive, street-based Walkshop that teaches you how to find inspiration using your urban environment. Join us on 2 October and over three hours you’ll learn how to access this environment and find fresh answers to personal or work-related questions.
Street Wisdom is a global enterprise run by volunteers in over 30 countries worldwide. It’s based on the principle that you don’t need to travel far from your normal environment to find the headspace for important decisions: you can get away, without getting away. Experience for yourself how this tool, adopted by corporations, businesses, and social groups across the globe, can produce profound results as you explore the streets around RSA House. Following the walking workshop, all are invited to reflect on their experience in a relaxed group conversation in Rawthmells, on the lower floors of RSA House.
Follow the link above to book your place. This event is free to attend but please book your place quickly as places are limited.
What is it? At the centre of Street Wisdom lies the idea that every moment is extraordinary and every street is full of inspiration - that there’s no such thing as an ordinary street, just ordinary thinking. Few of us give ourselves time or permission to really focus on the world around us but the urban landscape is full of signs and signals that we normally ignore; rich stimuli that can help us learn something new. In just three hours of walking and wandering, participants have resolved problems that have dogged them for years, found new business ideas, changed careers, discovered new directions, and learned how to deal differently with life and love.
Who is it for? It is relevant for anyone struggling with the day-to-day personal stuff, tackling a challenge in the workplace, figuring out what's next, or seeking a creative breakthrough. Once experienced, it can be easily replicated on a personal basis, taken into the workplace and used to inspire teams and colleagues, or used in a professional capacity by therapists, coaches, and urban planners. We are losing our sense of selves, place and community. Street Wisdom is a simple human navigation solution to help people become more open-hearted and open-minded; to find the wonder in the everyday, every-day.
What do you bring? An open mind, good walking shoes, and clothes for all weather. A question you'd like answered: not too big ('what is the meaning of life?'), not too small ('what shall I have for lunch?'), but somewhere in the middle - a burning issue to which you'd like fresh answers.
If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.
