RSA Bath: Visit to Locksbrook Campus, Bath Spa University

Join us for our February meetup to connect with other Fellows in the Bath area.

For our monthly meetup we have the opportunity to have a tour of the new Locksbrook Campus, the state-of-the-art facility has been transformed by Bath Spa University into a stunning purpose-built space for students and the local community.  Our conversation after the tour will focus on visions for the future and how the arts can provide insights into this and also hear from Doug Loughlen FRSA about the plight of Bath library.  Like many libraries around the country it is barely surviving and has been stripped of much of what it should be able to offer.  Local RSA fellows have joined together with people from both our universities and our local college to try to change this. Initially targeting supporting the library in improving basic services but with a longer term vision of understanding and working toward what a Library for the Future will look like and how we make that a reality in Bath. Bath desperately needs a world class and inclusive place to educate and inspire its citizens of all ages, open minds, and to share with the world the great things that really happen in our modern and vibrant city.

This event is a regular monthly meetup to explore and work on collaborative action by Fellows based in and around Bath. There will, as always, be the opportunity to network too.

Bath Fellows are dedicated to enriching society, and shaping the future through ideas and action.  We’re always looking for people and ideas to host different conversations over the year, so please get in touch with Lou or Penny if you are interested in that.   

If you are a new Fellow, please do come along and learn more about the network we are trying to build in Bath and how we hope to create connections between Fellows, do also feel free to bring a guest who might want to learn more about the RSA and its work.
