The RSA coffeehouse is opening its virtual doors. Inspired by the RSA’s origin as an enlightenment coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our Virtual Coffeehouse Conversation events series offers an interactive space to share and develop ideas for social change.

At each Virtual Coffeehouse Conversation, you will hear from an RSA Fellow with an idea or project for creating lasting social impact, who has questions for you to help them move forwards. Be part of a supportive group discussion focused on sharing insights, sparking ideas and finding solutions and opportunities.

RSA Fellow Professor Mel Ainscow CBE is leading ‘Pathways to Success’, the educational recovery strategy for Greater Manchester (UK). Schools everywhere face major challenges as they support their students to return to full-time education. Support is needed for all children and young people, with particular attention to those who are vulnerable to underachievement, marginalisation and exclusion.

The best expertise for achieving this lies amongst practitioners. Efforts must be made to find ways of helping teachers to articulate and share lessons from their experiences. ‘Pathways to Success’ involves the development of pathways that help move knowledge around, crossing borders between local authorities, and involving primary, special and secondary schools, academies, free schools, and maintained and voluntary aided schools.

Join Mel Ainscow to learn about ‘Pathways to Success’ and to explore what more this strategy and others like it can do to support schools in these unprecedented times. A short presentation from Mel will be followed by a facilitated discussion in which we welcome your input.

We welcome all who are interested from anywhere in the world, within and beyond our RSA Fellowship community.
