Don Parker

Don Parker is a National Leader of Education with extensive experience in supporting schools through his role as headteacher of Askwith Community Primary School.  Previously having worked as a Professional Partner, Consultant Headteacher and School Improvement Partner,  Don currently works extensively across Yorkshire and the North East supporting schools through bespoke packages of support.

Don works with the National College in writing content for the new National Qualifications, in Systems Leadership projects and in designing new programmes to support headteachers in post.

Don’s particular strengths involve the development of collaborative partnerships and talent identification and management.

Don supports schools, teaching schools alliances, clusters and local authorities in designing programmes and packages to raise teaching and learning in each school setting.  He believes strongly in a self-improving classroom, where networks, reaserch and development and supporting programmes allow teachers to observe and model quality first teaching.

Askwith Community Primary School is a rural school in North Yorkshire judged by OFSTED to be Outstanding.  It was awarded Teaching School status in the first cohort in 2011, and together with the Harrogate and Rural Teaching Alliance (HART Alliance) is dedicated to growing the teachers and headteachers of tomorrow.
