Meet some of our new Fellows

Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah CBE, Penny East, Weilong Gao, Roopesh Parekh, Azadeh Bagherzadeh, Kent Buse, Megan Challis, Leonor Diaz Alcantara, Yuriko Onishi and Selina Hinten-White

Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah CBE

World Health Organization BreatheLife Champion and Founder of the Ella Roberta Foundation. Rosamund became an advocate for clean air worldwide following the death of her daughter, Ella, from asthma at the age of nine; Ella was the first person in the world to have air pollution listed as a cause of death. Today, Rosamund campaigns for greater awareness on the impact air pollution has on human health and the responsibility governments have to clean up the air we breathe.

Penny East

Chief Executive of the Fawcett Society, which has been campaigning for women’s rights since 1866. Previously, Penny worked at the domestic abuse charity SafeLives, where she spearheaded the Domestic Abuse Bill and SafeLives’ internal survivor network. She also launched the UK’s first national domestic abuse perpetrator programme with the Home Office and the National Lottery. Formerly Director of Policy and Communications at mental health charity Think Ahead, Penny promoted a social approach to mental health across the NHS.

Weilong Gao

A product designer for TikTok, where he leads on subscriptions, one of the platform’s core monetisation products. The project serves over 10 million creators worldwide and generates over $50m annually. Beyond his professional role, his work has received international recognition, including at the global iF Design Awards. Weilong has also served as a judge for other global competitions such as the WBDS Award and the Vand Design Award. Much of his practice explores how design can build economic infrastructure for the digital world.

Roopesh Parekh

British film and television producer. He supports writers and directors with bold cinematic ambition and emotional clarity. His credits span Vision Quest for Marvel Studios, Willow for Lucasfilm, His Dark Materials for BBC/HBO and multiple seasons of Poldark for the BBC. Roopesh is a member of the British Screen Forum, contributing to discussions shaping the future of the screen industries, and is also an active member of BAFTA, the Production Guild of Great Britain, the Directors Guild of America and the Producers Guild of America.

Azadeh Bagherzadeh

Principal Scientist at Cancer Research Horizons, the translational arm of Cancer Research UK. She has over three decades of experience as a research scientist, with a specific interest in advancing cancer drug discovery through cutting-edge imaging technologies – driving the biological research behind a variety of drug discovery projects. Alongside her scientific pursuits, Azadeh is deeply committed to people and thrives at the intersection of science, strategy and impact – bringing innovation to research and empathy to leadership.

Kent Buse

Professor of Health Policy at Monash University Malaysia and Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Global 50/50, a feminist think tank driving accountability for gender justice across health, justice and finance. Kent began training as an engineer, but a youth exchange to Flores, Indonesia, rerouted him into development studies and a career deliberately bridging academia, civil society and the public sector, bringing allies together to turn evidence into action on social justice issues and campaigns. Kent authored Making Health Policy and is on the Board of the World Obesity Federation.

Megan Challis

Associate Director of Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships at the Wellcome Trust. In her role, she delivers effective advocacy to and partnerships with governments, multilateral organisations, the private sector and civil society. Previously, Megan established Wellcome’s Partnerships team. She has also held senior roles at the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care, including developing England’s National Maternity Safety strategy. Megan is a Board Trustee of the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Leonor Diaz Alcantara

Founder and President of Saviesa, a European ‘think and do’ tank examining the human consequences of artificial intelligence. Saviesa works with governments, institutions and cultural organisations to develop practical frameworks that embed ethical judgement into policy, learning and leadership. Leonor’s previous roles include Global CEO of Montessori Global Education and CEO of the RAFT Institute, as well as Executive Director of the Galapagos Conservation Trust, where she worked with governments, scientists and global media on conservation policy and funding.

Yuriko Onishi

Yuriko works for Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a long-term overseas research fellow for government officials currently assigned to the UK. Motivated by a desire to help unlock human potential through education, she has devoted the past 15 years to the higher education field in Japan. As part of her work, she has accelerated internationalisation for universities while improving the quality of education and research – allowing more than 1,500 students to experience quality-assured education exchange programmes across borders.

Selina Hinten-White

A barrister based in the Netherlands, currently serving as legal counsel and strategic business partner at WWF International. Here she advises on international employment and labour law compliance. Her previous work spans litigation and advisory work at the Irish Bar, university lecturing in EU and business law, EU-funded research grant coordination, and cross-border consultancy. Selina is committed to advancing ethical, inclusive and globally connected legal practice that supports social and environmental impact, and is actively engaged in professional networks and committees on international, employment, environmental and non-profit law.
