Our mission is to enable people, places and the planet to flourish. We are proud to have joined the Sustainable City Charter and have pledged to work towards net zero emissions by 2040.

As signatories of the Sustainable City Charter, supported by Westminster City Council and the Westminster Property Association, we are committing to improving emissions by focussing on eight areas: collaboration, energy emissions, procurement, construction, deliveries, transport, waste and implementation.

We are committed to improving our sustainability rating in all our operations at the RSA and have achieved a Bronze EcoVadis rating and an award from Planet Mark for our Sustainability Report. We have also been accredited with 3 Stars from the Food Made Good Awards for our sustainable hospitality.

We are continously striving to improve our hospitality offerings, to ensure they are as regenerative as possible. When you visit us you can be assured that:

  • We source only British cheese and meat, and serve fish rated as ‘good to eat’ by the Marine Conservation Society. We don’t source any airfreighted fruit and vegetables.

  • All of our single-use coffee cups, napkins and other products are recycled and biodegradable.

  • We use data to inform our ordering, to reduce our food waste. Our menus contain ingredients with a low carbon footprint. We buy ‘wonky’ vegetables that are typically rejected by supermarkets.

  • Using incentives such as ‘too good to go’ and our own ‘tea time offer’, since May 2023 we have repurposed food that would otherwise go to landfill. 59% of all food and drinks bought from May to October the same year came from our London
    Larder suppliers.

  • Our waste food is donated to The Felix Project which collects fresh, nutritious food that cannot be sold. They deliver surplus food to charities and schools, so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.

  • We also have a sustainable wedding package open to everyone who books RSA House for their special day.

Environmental policy

We regard minimising our impact on the environment as one of our basic management goals and organisation priorities.

A serene landscape featuring a series of small waterfalls cascading into a clear, rocky stream surrounded by grassy hills and mountains under a cloudy sky. The water is tranquil, reflecting the muted colors of the overcast day.

RSA House

RSA House is open to Fellows, visitors, staff and for external events, weddings, parties and meetings.

Georgian-style building with tall columns, large windows, and an arched entrance. A flag is hanging from above the doorway. Decorative medallions are visible on the façade. A black wrought iron fence runs along the front.
