For this month’s Augmented Society Network event, Sawyer Rose, FRSA, MRSS Visual Artist, and Angela Williams Bickham, MFA, MA Independent Researcher and Poet, will be speaking about a collaborative project they have been working on titled With My Name in Your Hand.
Free women of colour – women of African descent living outside the bonds of slavery during the pre-civil war period in the United States – were part of a diverse, dynamic segment of society and often played crucial matriarchal roles in their families. With My Name in Your Hand memorialises the vibrant lives of these free Black women through large-scale sculpture and historical fiction as poetry.

Taking part in RSA online events
For our interactive online events, the RSA uses the platform Zoom. We have found it simple for participants to use while also providing the necessary functionality for an engaging online event.
To participate in the event, you will need to register for a ticket to receive the bespoke link to join. You will be sent detailed instructions via email closer to the event.
