The RSA is hosting a roundtable on 'Inclusive Growth for dynamic, resilient local economies'.

This will be the first seminar of the RSA Inclusive Growth Commission, a year-long inquiry into how local economies can drive growth, productivity and prosperity through greater economic inclusivity. The Commission is a successor to the influential RSA City Growth Commission and is chaired by Stephanie Flanders, JP Morgan Chief Market Strategist (UK and Europe) and former BBC Economics Editor.

The seminar will probe the characteristics of dynamic local economies and explore what they need to become engines of inclusive growth -  where the widest range of people are able to contribute to, and benefit from, local economic success. It will examine how inclusive growth strategies can complement place-based public service reform, within and beyond our major city-regions.

It will also consider the extent to which current devolution deals are able to integrate economic and social policy and finance, as well as additional powers and flexibilities that might be needed. Finally, it will also seek to understand the needs of enterprise – business, SMEs, the social sector and entrepreneurs – in supporting more dynamic, resilient and inclusive local economies.

Registration and refreshments from 2.30pm.
