Yet producing healthy, nutritious, affordable food that secures the long-term health and well-being of our people and planet whilst tackling climate change and addressing environmental decline is one the biggest challenges of our time. Obesity, hunger, coronary heart disease and diabetes blight our health and societal wellbeing - and attitudes to food are changing fast with an increasing number of consumers seeking to replace animal proteins with plant proteins.
The issues are complex with farming in the spotlight, facing new challenges but also opportunities. This conference seeks to find out how agricultural science and innovation can help address and resolve the economic, environmental and societal questions in working towards more sustainable – indeed regenerative – food production.
